Why do I have a page dedicated to Inspiring Quotes on this site?

It is because I firmly believe in the power of positive mindsets to help us overcome an array of maladies. Many of us were not fortunate to have been born into an atmosphere that was supportive or encouraging, let alone 'positive' and I have found so much wisdom in the words from so many sources. Some were the great philosophers, some from songwriters, and some simply from movies or age-old adages! It is important for us to look within and find our own wisdom, but if all we ever knew on the outside was negativity and nay-sayin'.... it is extremely helpful to use these inspirings as a launchpad. There are thousands and thousands out there, and I have hundreds collected throughout my computer and home! But for space, I will only leave a few here for the moment. Enjoy!

And we are put on earth a little space, That we may learn to bear the beams of love. - Blakely

'Don't give up a minute before the miracle'...

Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor . . . Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.
~Mother Teresa

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
 Edith Wharton

"We can all be angels to one another. We can choose to obey the still small stirring within, the little whisper that says, 'Go. Ask. Reach out. Be an answer to someone's plea. You have a part to play. Have faith.' We can decide to risk that He is indeed there, watching, caring, cherishing us as we love and accept love. The world will be a better place for it. And wherever they are, the angels will dance.“ ~ Joan Wester Anderson

Love must be as much a light as it is a flame.

Shoot for the moon. even if you miss you will be among the stars.

When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
(next...those who will dance with you in the rain will likely be the ones to walk with you in the storm)                                                                                             (Nita adds: and be sure to splash in the puddles!)

And the day came when it was more painful to remain closed in a tight bud than to bloom.

Why fit in when we are meant to stand out!

When we come to the edge of all we know we must have faith in two things...
we will have something firm to stand on, or we will be taught to fly...

An age is called Dark not because the light fails to shine, but because people refuse to see it.~James A. Michener

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both. ”
~James A. Michener

Be mindful of your thoughts for they shall become your actions. Be mindful of your actions for they shall become your habits. Be mindful of your habits for they shall become your character. Be mindful of your character for it shall become your Destiny. It all starts with our thoughts, and we can control our thoughts...

Ignorance breeds fear. Fear breeds hatred. Hatred breeds violence.

The Four Agreements (I highly highly recommend this book! I refer to it often!) 1. Don't take anything personally. 2. Don't make assumptions (ask clarifying questions!) 3. Be impeccable with your word (speak truth and kindness...know when it is better to be kind than honest or 'right') 4. Always do your best (knowing that your 'best' will change with each situation).

“All beings tremble before violence.  All fear death, and all love life.  See yourself in others.  Then whom can you hurt?  What harm can you do?”  Buddha

Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
—Albert Schweitzer

When we feel love and kindness towards others,
it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but
it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.
~ The Dalai Lama ~
